I want everyone to know that baseball cards are cool again. My lady and I were walking through Wal-mart the other night and we decided to collect the entire 2009 Topps set. We are buying a pack at a time, and what fun it is to open a new pack.
On another note; those that are in the know, know that I like shoes. I also happen to like Kanye West. Then he and Nike made some sweet kicks together so it is proverbial marriage of things I enjoy, and I should somehow get credit.

ReplyDeleteBaseball cards were always cool to the true fan. It was the greedy crooks at shows and collector shops that gave them a bad name.

ReplyDeleteIm the oldest of 4 kids and growing up somewhere along the way, my 2 brothers were both collecting baseball cards. Then it became a big issue of whose cards were whose, so my little brother switched to football (at my parents vervent encouraging) and I got involved w/ basketball cards....things went happily along until my sister got old enough to get interested and guess what ... Dad introduced her to hockey! Now 20+ years later, we've all got great memories of ripping open pack after pack of cards (esp at Xmas!) and some pretty sweet collections to boot. Now my sister and I have moved into Magic: The Gathering, both as players & collectors...so add another 25,000 cards to the boxes upon boxes. But oh what fun it is!!!
