I found this little gem of a band while watching t.v. one night and a Bacardi Mojito commercial came on, I sort of tuned it out but the song playing in the background was so catchy. I made it my mission to find out who it was, and much to Bacardi's disappointment not to get wasted. I did and after some digging found that this was no one hit band, no sir, Matt and Kim have a world of wonderful, minimal, joyous tunes that even a metal head like me can chew on and enjoy. I also think that it is worth mentioning, because I am a consumer, that their merch is pretty cool. Thats about the pinch, twist and pull of it kids. Keep it nude!

"Paul Blart: Mall Cop" Dvd release/review

From the production company that brought you "Grandma's Boy", "Anger Management", and "50 First Dates", comes the surprisingly funny comedy, about an overweight mall cop. Kevin James plays the hypoglycemic Blart, who has failed on several occasions to pass the police academy's obstacle course, due to complications that arose due to his disease... Hence his ten year employment as mall security.
This movie is a playful spoof on the "Diehard" movie franchise, with plenty of explosions, raining shards of glass and misguided gunfire. My single complaint, is that there wasn't gratuitous nudity... I'm sure my male counterparts can sympathize. Thankfully, the flick compensates with a solid comedic performance provided by Kevin James, and most of the rest of the cast... Well, some of the rest of the cast. Ok... So the rest of the cast delivered their lines with the personality of a jedi council member, but that doesn't stop most of the movie from being entertaining and definitely worth watching if you are as big a fan of "King of Queens" as I am.

"Monuments and Melodies" Is the bands upcoming greatest hits album, that features this song, as well as 25 other hits, rarities and b-sides. The album, which is due to hit store shelves June 16th, features artwork by the ever-pretentious lead singer of the band, Brandon Boyd. Despite his self-righteousness, we here at MMN have a full fledged man-crush on that multi-talented, good-looking hunk of sensitivity...but at the same time, we have an almost uncontrolable urge to punch him...

We are trying to get in touch with the production company to possibly get a copy of it to review, but if that doesn't go down, we are planning on donning our "buddy passes" and dramamine; and flying out to Denver to catch a showing, if we do will will be sure to have lots of pics for y'all. Staring Beyoncé Knowles (you may know her from, "music") and Ali Larter (from, "nothing really worth meantioning for the last few years") comes a story about a woman obsessed, and a woman scorn, and a cat fight, and a wife out to regain... and so on blah blah...
Obsessed opens today, if you didn't pick that up from the 2 hour special TBS did on it last night. Whereby making it one of the most advertised rehashes in a while, and a movie with better previews than content. ...and that is the pinch and twist of it.

"The Knowing"-Movie review

Hollywood has a throng of celebrities at their disposal when a big budget film needs a well known face to boost the chance of a profit. Samuel L. Jackson, Matthew Mcconaughey and Brad Pitt, are actors that are called upon to carry the weight of films, when they are encumbered by predictable storylines and z-list actors. In “The Knowing” the producers chose Nicholas Cage, a tried and true veteran of the suspense genre. The rest of the cast are relatively unknown and are hardly worth mentioning, except perhaps as a model for those attempting to learn poor acting skills. The Special effects in this film are breathtakingly realistic and perhaps the only saving grace within its one hour and fifty five minute run time. I have yet to see a more impressive train wreck on film,(double entendre?) and the only plane crash that can hold a candle to the one in this movie, is the one featured in “lost”.

The studio enlisted the directing duties of Alex Proyas, who has directed notable films in the past, such as “I,Robot” and “The Crow”. All in all, this movie is predictable, (especially if you’ve seen the trailer) it leaves you emotionally stranded, and it will leave your wallet suffering from buyer’s remorse. If you don’t care about an engaging story, dialogue delivered by actors with a sense of human emotion, or knowing the ending before the movie even starts, than this is the movie to see…

This is new song from Sean Kingston and Lil' Wayne. Go figure right, two guys that are on everything, we like it though. Also, Lil' Wayne is supposed to come out with a new (rock) album. I don't know really what the target audience for that is though it seems like all the "rocker" kids will call him a poser and all the "hip-hop" kids will call him a sell out. Still, the first single "Prom Queen" is pretty darn catchy. You can argue with progress I guess.

This is a big weekend for me.

I'm stuck inside the extended stay America hotel, room 112 in San Fernando, California all by myself with no car and only a Target within walking distance. I will be documenting my insanity via my space bulletins.

I woke up this morning at the crack of 11, with the song "I feel like dying" stuck in my head still. The room was hot and almost swamp like, as i forgot to leave the cooler on last night. I promptly got up and began pacing around the room singing a few mixed up lines from an usher song they played last night. Around the time i made my second pass in front of the t.v. I heard a knock at the wall. Kat's room! I forgot for a moment that she left with the others yesterday and ran and knocked on her door. A huge Arab man opened the door and i explained my mistake as cool as possible, however in the excitement i left my key inside my room and was locked out.

After a few phone calls and a bitchy desk attendant I was allowed back into my room. I am now 3 hours , 4.5 cups of coffee , 2 bathroom trips and 7 Boca burgers in to my adventure. Unless I did my math wrong i am also 66 hours away from getting out and back to work. We can do this.

Heres the thing, much like American Idol's, beloved David Archuleta; Children of Bodom has no range. Does that make them a bad band? No. Does it make them rather forgettable by track 5? Yes.

By the blistering minute in a half solo in "Banned from Heaven" I couldn't escape the feeling of deja vu. Had I been here before? Certainly Children of Bodom had. As far as new albums go I will put this on my "meh" list. To compare it to such masterpieces as BDM's "Nocturnal" or DTF's (R.I.P) "Are you serious", would be a grave injustice. It has its strong points though, Alexi "Wildchild" Laiho is a great guitarist save a few tone issues, and the punk rock driven, hateful edge of these guys is always fun. The scoop and plop of it is, get your fill of this album in your hesher friends t-top (Dan) and save your money for the new "Light This City" album due out later this year.

When I was a mere teenager and I passed the threshold of puberty, I thought that was it. The max peak I could reach in life. Much later, after moving out of my parents basement, my friends assured me that was the pinnacle. I drifted through much of my life after that, ho- humming as i began my ascent. That was until I heard Nocturnal!

Blistering riffs, delicious vocals, and pound so deep you poop drums, all come together for an experience both orgasmic and liberating. Death master Trevor S. comes at you with straight from the grave of a possessed drunkard, with vocals that will scare your teeth out, while the guitars and rhythm section make sure not one second of the record is wasted.
